Welcome to the introductory page of Network Universalis. Network Universalis is an organisation in which a universal organical environment for learning, discovering and creating is "grown", in a collaborative effort of the participating members. While reflecting on their own chosen learning and creation processes, the participants feed back their insights, into the network, enhancing it as a background for learning and creating. Network Universalis was founded in 2004 by Chide Groenouwe.

Within the network, learning and creating is considered a multi-faceted process, that is approached from a transdisciplinary perspective: this means acquiring, combining and integrating insights from the range of existing disciplines, like psychology, neurosciences, educational sciences, organization theory, (computer) technology, parapsychology, sociological sciences, sports, ergonomics, arts, history and last but not least humour.

Central is the self-similarity of the organisation. This means that every part of the network universalis... is also a network universalis! Practically this means that every member is seen as a potential learner, creator, educator and discoverer at the same time. On the other side, the network aims also for being a self-similar part of the society it resides inside, forming a kind of "copy" of processes taking place there, but on a smaller scale. A fast exchange of insights and new unforeseen cross-connections between previously uncorrelated areas could come within reach. In this sense the network mimics a homo universalis, with a group of people. But maybe more importantly, from this more integrated and wider view a new sense of direction and awareness of what it is that could be done to make this a better world, can be reached.
Network Universalis tries to contribute to positive developments within society, by dissiminating gained knowledge and participating or initiating relevant projects. One of these relevant projects is the information system for collaborative knowledge creation, Subleme, that you are using right now.
